Club History

The club history was edited for this web page by Tom Kenyon
         The first meeting of the people destined to become South Bay WoodWorkers club's charter members met at a garage sale hosted by Joe Ransil in November, 1991. The first meeting as a club was November 14, 1991 at Art Anderson's home. Charter members were;
  • Art Anderson
  • Tim Bryan
  • Eugene Louie
  • Wayne Massingill
  • Joe Ransil
  • Lou Thorpe
  • Fleet Walker
  • Ed Vincent
        Through the efforts of a early member, Dr Jack Cox, the club obtained use of a meeting room at the Federated Saratoga Church. The church was designed by Julia Morgan, famous for designing Hearst Castle and San Francisco Palace of Fine Arts. The meeting room was very small and as a result the club often had a waiting list for membership. During a major church renovation, the club's meeting room was changed to a larger room.  In 2017 meeting location was changed to the Postal Annex building because of scheduling conflicts.
